The Grove is a former rectory considered to be one of the ‘Three Great Houses of Carshalton’. The original buildings date from the 1820s and were set in large grounds overlooking the Wandle River at the centre of what is now Carshalton Village Conservation Area.
Curl la Tourelle Head are adapting this locally listed structure into 10 new homes on behalf of Sutton Living. The proposal has developed through carefully unpicking multiple layers of construction to celebrate the historic features of the house, whilst creating new additions complementary to the original Victorian aesthetic.
